Here's Estro sporting an early Christmas present from her Aunt M. I opened it and tried it on her and it fit just like it was custom made. She either actually likes wearing them, or she likes what they stand for: going outside. As soon as she poked her paws through the armholes, it triggered a lot of hopping up and down and running around which is her way of saying, "Park! Park! Park!"
To the park we went but not after being seen by neighborhood friends, who busted me, "Rosemary? Is that you? Is your dog in a sweater?"
Big party budgets are so last year--and also this year. The NYTimes did a great little piece about getting a high-falutin' New York event planner to put together an 8-person dinner party at a "beat-up dingy apartment in the West Village."
A winter wonderland ensued, look how pretty. Full article and bonus audio slideshow are here.
That's the scent description of what Christmas smells like to me: Ralph Lauren's "Holiday" candle.
An old work pal told me about it three years ago and I've had them lit in the house every December since. This red one came at a fair price: 40% off at the Ralph Lauren store near Union Square. The silver version is available here for a slightly prettier penny.
Congratulations to Tammy, Adam, and their baby boy who joined the world at 6:10PM last night. Everyone is doing great! Yesterday we had the most dramatic weather San Francisco has seen in years. It was the biggest moon, then hail *and* snow. Back to bright and beautiful, on my way to the hospital, this rainbow hung in the sky.
Yesterday, I went to an auto parts store for the first time. Well, that's something new. I bought tiny little fuses, one of which I will install myself. It's like Light Brites. Kind of like what's on our Christmas tree. Note that the ornaments are dangling from bent paper clips.
