This looks just like Estro, ha! Yesterday when asked about whether it's too soon to get another dog, I said I'll be in San Francisco for a week, so we're going to wait at least until after that.
Maybe before Christmas, it depends on when we meet our next furry soulmate. I'm sure that we will know, just like we knew with Estro.
"We're going to wait for the 3 of us to agree."
"Who's the 3rd?"
"The dog!"
It's sunny as can be right now, but this is from a rainy yesterday:
Wonderful Love - Creeper Lagoon
Miss You - The Rolling Stones
Shipbuilding - Elvis Costello
I Know it's Over - The Smiths
Love My Way - Jon Auer
Chasing a Bee - Mercury Rev
Vienna - Ultravox
Shout - Tears for Fears
When the Grass Grows Over Me - George Jones
You know how when you intend to call someone, you pick up the phone and find that you just answered their call? That happened today; it was from my hairdresser, but I'll take it.
I'll take any positive sign, any coincidence, anything pointing towards the universe being all right. That nature is doing exactly as it intended. It makes perfect sense to me.
Even the 4" jerk wasps that fly into our house have a place, they eat smaller bugs. At first we laughed with our 20-foot long bug spray, "Harry the Hornet is dead." But so many Harry's have come in that I started counting, we're at 13.
Today's flowers are from a few houses down and I keep seeing them everywhere.
We got some great pounding rain early this morning and it's still coming on in sprinkles. It's the time when everything leafy gets really bright and intensely green.
Nick and Dema both said it's a spoonrest, so that's where it goes, a pop of fun on the black granite counters. There are *great* vintage finds around town: some stores you can get lost in for hours.
And here's an app for your phone that mimics Polaroids of yore, shakeitphoto. You shoot the photo, then shake the camera. It even makes the Polaroid sound. Look how great my anniversary flowers are. They're all locally grown in the Hill Country (the place that I pretend is Napa). We are 9 years married as of 09.16.09!
Very much looking forward to my trip to San Francisco the first week of October. Besides attending the wedding that Nick is officiating (his 2nd, now we are tied), I plan on hitting some touristy things that I miss now, or never did in my 15 years of living in one of the world's most beautiful cities.
Alcatraz? Perhaps. Cable Car? Yes. The fucking ocean? Yes. Yacht Club Groom's Dinner, yes!
Hardly Strictly? Definitely. And I believe that John Doe is playing Annie's Social Club on Sunday October 4th.
Mostly, I'll be laughing with friends, getting misty at the wedding in a red silk Marc Jacobs dress and telling everyone that we're doing okay and that we miss them just a little bit more than they miss us.
